Series Snapshot

- In the teams' last meeting, the Tigers claimed a 9-2 victory over the Shockers in Columbia, Mo. (April 13, 2016)
A Look Inside Mizzou's Daunting Schedule
- To say the Tigers have played a tough schedule this season is an understatment. Overall, Mizzou has competed in a whopping 25 games against nationally ranked opponents, including 14 matchups versus top 10 foes.
- The loaded SEC has been relentless on the Tigers this year, as all 18 games within the conference have / will come against top 25 nationally ranked opponents.
- Despite a "down" year for Mizzou Softball standards under head coach Ehren Earleywine, the Tigers have still tallied a number of impressive victories this season. In fact, Mizzou's eight wins over current top 25 RPI ballclubs rank 10th-most in the country.
- Additionally, the Tigers' 23 total games (8-15 record) against current top 25 RPI teams are tied for most in the NCAA, matching Washington and UCLA's number of matchups against elite competition this year.
Tigers End SEC Skid at #17 LSU
- Mizzou ended its recent SEC losing skid this past weekend at #17 LSU (April 29) with a series finale victory in Baton Rouge. Despite dropping two of three at Tiger Park, Mizzou's pitching turned in a stellar performance in the circle.
- Overall, the visiting Tigers' hurlers limited LSU to seven runs over three games, while producing a 1.84 ERA and a miniscule .209 batting average against.
- In Mizzou's series finale win, senior Cheyenne Baxter delivered another magnificent effort in SEC action. The Norborne, Mo., native allowed one run (zero earned) over a complete game effort (eighth this season, sixth in SEC play).
- Last Saturday's series finale triumph marked Baxter's sixth SEC win against a nationally ranked top 25 opponent.
