- Mizzou Baseball will look to rebound from its first series loss of the season last weekend as it welcomes Southeast Missouri to Taylor Stadium for a 3 p.m. first pitch Tuesday on SEC Network+. Ben Arnet and Tim Jamieson will have the call and the game will also air on KTGR in the Mid-Missouri area.
- Tuesday's game will be special for first-year Mizzou head coach Steve Bieser as he coached at Southeast Missouri from 2011-2016, serving as the head coach during the Redhawks' most successful stretch in program history from 2013-16. Bieser took the head coaching job at Mizzou last summer after serving as the main architect behind a SEMO team that won three consecutive OVC Championships while advancing to the school's first NCAA Regional since 2002 last year. A two-time OVC Coach of the Year, Bieser won 35 or more games in each of his last three seasons at SEMO, a feat that had been accomplished just once before he took over the program in 2013. Bieser turned in a .587 winning percentage during his time at SEMO, the best among any coach in program history. Bieser guided the Redhawks to three consecutive OVC Championships, the first OVC team to accomplish that feat.
- Bieser is also a Southeast Missouri graduate, earning a math major in 1989 before embarking on a major league baseball career and his current coaching career.
- Tuesday will mark the first time that Bieser will face his former team.
- Mizzou leads the all-time series with SEMO, 23-12, after splitting a pair of meetings last year with Bieser at the helm. SEMO won game one last year, 7-2, before Mizzou won game two, 13-6.
- With SEMO coming to town, it is important to look at what first-year Mizzou head coach Steve Bieser accomplished during his four-year stint at the helm of the prorgam.
- 2016 OVC Coach of the Year
- 2014 OVC Coach of the Year
- Became one of just 15 coaches in OVC history to win multiple Coach of the Year awards
- 138-97 (.587) in four years at SEMO
- Guided the Redhawks to three consecutive OVC Championships, the first OVC team to accomplish that feat
- SEMO was 67-23 in OVC play in three championship seasons
- Set SEMO school record with 39 wins in 2016, breaking the record of 37 set by his 2014 team
- Guided SEMO to its first OVC Conference tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002 last season.
- Earned his 100th career victory in the fourth game of the season on Feb. 22 at Alcorn State.
- For the first time in Southeast's history, the team opened OVC play with a perfect 12-0 record.
- Mentored three OVC Pitchers of the Year, an OVC Player of the Year, 11 First Team All-OVC members, eight Second Team selections, and two All-Freshman Team members.
- Coached LHP Joey Lucchesi to back-to-back OVC Pitcher of the Year awards, the only pitcher to ever accomplish that feat.
- Emphasis on academics while at SEMO, coaching six Academic All-Americans, 10 Academic All-District picks, one OVC Scholar-Athlete, six OVC Medal of Honor recipients and 56 OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll selections.
- SEMO had at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average in all four years under Bieser, grabbing one OVC Team Academic Award along the way.

Mizzou hosts No. 9 Florida this weekend at Taylor Stadium. The series is highlighted by a Friday night matchup between a pair of projected top-10 picks in this summer's MLB Draft as Mizzou's Tanner Houck will square off against the Gators' Alex Faedo. The two pitched on USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team last summer. Friday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m. while the Saturday and Sunday games will be at 2 p.m and 1 p.m., respectively.
