Businesses throughout the State of Missouri Encouraged to Attend
MINNEAPOLIS –Mortenson Construction, in association with Reinhardt Construction, has announced a Subcontractor and Supplier Kickoff meeting for the Memorial Stadium South Expansion Project. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 9-11AM (CST) at the Memorial Stadium Columns Club. Additional details and RSVP information can be found at https://www.mizzoufootballsez.com/.
The University of Missouri Board of Curators provided project approval for the Memorial Stadium South Expansion project in August 2017. Mortenson | Reinhardt is the Construction Manager selected to oversee the project.
"Local business and workforce participation is a top priority for the construction team," said Travis Noble, Mortenson Construction. "We are committed to working with local and regional businesses to ensure this project has a lasting economic impact on the region. "We are excited to be working with Jerry Daugherty of Reinhardt Construction, a local firm that has been doing business in central Missouri for over 47 years. His relationships with local businesses and the local workforce ensures members of the community will have opportunities to participate in the project."
Mortenson has made headlines in cities like Memphis, Louisville, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee for achieving and exceeding local and minority business and workforce goals.
Memorial Stadium opened its doors in 1926 and has since undergone numerous renovations, expanding from its original 25,000 capacity to its current 71,168. This project completely removes the existing south seating bowl and bleachers constructed in 1977, as well as the home team locker room that was added under the bleachers in 1992.
The reconstructed south end zone will feature a new 190,000 SF, four-story football facility and will house major football program elements including a new home team locker room, training facility, weight room, equipment storage, and public reception areas. The new seating bowl will provide enclosed premium spaces and outdoor general admission seats.
