Setting the Stage
- Mizzou will close its nine-game road trip in Florida this weekend as it hosts Hofstra in a four-game series at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Fla. This will mark the first ever meeting between Mizzou and Hofstra. The games will air live on KTGR throughout the weekend with Tex Little and Trevor Coleman on the call.
- Hofstra has not played since last weekend when it was swept at fellow SEC foe Texas A&M. Hofstra scored just six runs over the three-game weekend series and allowed 25. A member of the Colonial Athletic Association, Hofstra went 19-29 a season ago and 6-18 in CAA competition.
- Mizzou is coming off of a midweek win at Florida International (an NCAA Regional Team in 2015), 7-6. Freshman Brian Sharp earned his first career save (five outs) and drove in two runs in the win. Mizzou led 7-1 before FIU climbed back into the game.
