COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou volleyball junior outside hitter Carly Kan has been named to the 2015 Preseason Volleyball All-SEC Team, as announced Thursday morning (Aug. 13) by the Southeastern Conference office.
Kan is one of nine student-athletes to be named to this season's All-SEC Team, and it marks the second consecutive preseason recognition for the Honolulu, Hawaii, native.
After a 2013 freshman campaign that saw her earn SEC Freshman of the Year and All-America honors, Kan once again delivered last season and earned consecutive AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors. 2014 was also the second consecutive season that Kan garnered AVCA All-Southeast Region Team recognition.
Kan proved to be one of the nation's top outside hitters in 2014, leading the SEC with 19 double-doubles. That number matched the Mizzou volleyball program record for double-doubles in a season during the 25-point set era. Overall, Kan tallied 418 kills, 394 digs, and 457.5 points in her sophomore campaign for the Tigers. She led the nation in combined kills and digs in 2014.
