Handicap/Accessible Parking
The University of Missouri Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are initiating an effort to help ensure that accessible parking areas will be used only by those who are eligible to use them. We hope this will create additional parking for fans with disabilities.
Missouri State law requires that vehicles displaying a temporary or permanent disabled placard or plate seeking to park in a disabled parking space may park in the space only when the person to whom the placard or plate was issued is in the vehicle at the time of the parking. In addition, Missouri State law requires that a validated receipt for the application for the disabled person placard must be in the vehicle when the placard or plate is in use.
Handicap parking for both men's and women's basketball games – located in a portion of the West side of Lot O (parking map) – will only be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for vehicles that meet all three of these requirements:
- A disabled placard or plate
- The person to whom the placard or plate was issued is in the vehicle
- The person seeking to park shows the officer a validated application receipt for the placard or plate
Drivers should enter the accessible lot via Providence Road to Mick Deaver Memorial Drive (new entrance at stoplight), then north on Mick Deaver Memorial Drive using far right-hand lane to entrance of Lot O. In addition, overflow handicap parking is available in the Southwest portion of Lot M (parking map).
