Mizzou Athletics and The Club at Old Hawthorne entered into a partnership in 2006 and together, Club has evolved into one of the country's finest collegiate golf homes in America.
The Club at Old Hawthorne annually hosts events for the Mizzou Men's and Women's programs and was the host site of the 2014 NCAA Columbia Regional. The Tigers have the ability to host up to three golf tournaments per year on the course including championships like the NCAA Regional.
Walsworth Family Golf Center
Mizzou Golf celebrated the grand opening of the Walsworth Family Golf Center on Sept. 28, 2013 with Tiger Scholarship Fund donxqors, Mizzou Athletics administration, former student athletes, fans, family and friends. The opening was a historic day for Mizzou Golf and represents the growth and success of the men's and women's golf programs under head coaches Mark Leroux and Stephanie Priesmeyer.
The facility was made possible by the generosity of Don and Audrey Walsworth along with many others. The Walsworth family has always been strong supporters of the University of Missouri and Mizzou Golf. Don Walsworth and family, former Athletic Director Mike Alden, Billy and Glenda Sapp and 1970 men's golf captain, Ben Thomas, were in attendance at the event.
The golf center is located at Mizzou's home course, The Club at Old Hawthorne.
The Walsworth Family Golf Center provides Mizzou Golf with an abundance of resources it previously did not have access to. The facility includes two indoor heated hitting bays, team locker rooms, team lounges, coaching offices, a swing pattern analysis video station, a private putting green and chipping area.
Billy Sapp led a team of partners with strong ties to the Columbia community and to golf. Included on that team was Jeff Whitfield, who played on MU's golf team from 1977 to 1980, where he was a Big Eight All-Conference player. Now a PGA professional, Whitfield developed the Persimmon Woods Golf Club in St. Louis. Gary Mitchell is also part of the Old Hawthorne group and has been a PGA professional since 1976, bringing his expertise to course development around Missouri. He is part owner of Dogwood Hills Golf Course in Osage Beach and was the developer of Rivercut Golf Community in Springfield. Sapp has long been involved in the Columbia business community, establishing Emery Sapp & Sons Construction Co. with his father and brother, and later Con-Agg.
"We are proud of our golf course at Old Hawthorne," Sapp said. "The property lent itself perfectly to a golf course that challenges every skill of a player. We're honored to welcome the MU golf teams to their new home."

The Community of Old Hawthorne is located just east of Columbia on Route WW. Fans and alumni of the University of Missouri are able to play MU's new home course at Old Hawthorne through local, regional or national memberships.
