At The University of Missouri, we are dedicated to furthering the field of Strength and Conditioning, and it is with that dedication and commitment we plan to continue to build a well-respected and nationally recognized program. It is that same dedication and commitment that we have for our student-athlete. Student-athletes will be provided with every opportunity to develop into the best athlete that they can be. This will be insured thorough constant supervision and progression, consistent strength/power/conditioning testing, and the development of discipline. The workouts for all sports are adapted periodically according to seasonal needs and the demands of each individual sport. Finally, the student-athlete will receive constant feedback and supervision while training to insure proper technique and maximize training efforts. We provide the blueprint, all the student-athlete has to bring is focus, intensity, enthusiasm, leadership, and dedication.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
Choosing the right college can be a difficult decision, especially when trying to find the right balance of education and athletic success, and the more information that a prospective student-athlete can get, the easier the decision will be. At The University of Missouri we realize this and with that in mind here are some questions worth getting the answers about a strength and conditioning program at a prospective school.
1. Do all staff members have certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association?
2. Does the staff all have undergraduate degrees related to strength and conditioning? Master's degrees?
3. Will my workouts be based on my existing strength and conditioning levels (Is there consistent testing)?
4. Will I receive constant supervision from qualified staff members?
5. Is the weight room scheduled for team training (to build team camaraderie and support) or will it have open times for any student-athlete?
