The Camp Directors
Susan and Wayne Kreklow After a spring full of adjustments, not to mention recruiting and off-season training, the Kreklows are ready to get down to coaching. No strangers to the city of Columbia, the Kreklows were co-head coaches of the National Champion Columbia College women’s volleyball program as well as the 1999 SSI-NAIA National Championship runner-up men’s volleyball program. During their last two seasons at the helm of the Cougars, they guided the women to two consecutive national titles with a combined record of 85-0. The Kreklows leave Columbia College with a combined 461-81 record. Susan and Wayne have two sons, Rick (8) and Ryan (3) and a daughter Alex (4).
The Hearnes Center
& Rothwell Gymnasium The arena, which seats 13,300, was upgraded this past summer with a newly painted hardwood floor. Two years ago marked the debut of a completely new hardwood floor that had been in the arena since 1980. The Hearnes Center also houses a 220-yard, eight lane indoor track at the south end of the facility and a regulation-size practice volleyball and basketball court on the fourth floor, along with the wrestling and gymnastics practice gyms. A portable volleyball floor may be utilized in the fieldhouse area for further practice space. The main arena and fieldhouse are separated by a section containing Missouri’s intercollegiate athletic offices, meeting rooms and team locker rooms. Rothwell Gymnasium is located in the heart of the Mizzou campus. Housed inside the Student Recreation Center, Rothwell is the former home of the Missouri Tigers first men’s basketball team. The gymnasium holds four volleyball/basketball hardwood courts with locker room accessibility. Surrounding Rothwell are offices and classrooms, a martial arts mat room and what used to be racquetball courts.
