The University of Missouri volleyball program will host an overnight team camp for junior varsity and varsity girls volleyball teams on the University of Missouri campus.

Participating teams will play a minimum of 14 games during the weekend-long camp. Top quality collegiate coaches and club coaches, as well as former and current collegiate players, will conduct team practices and provide feedback on match play through individual interation with coaches and players.

The camp culminates on the final day with tournament play. Following tournament play, awards will be given for team performances. Campers, if they so choose, will reside in a dormitory on the University of Missouri campus and a swimming pool will be available for their use.

The Camp Directors Susan and Wayne Kreklow
The husband-wife tandem of Wayne and Susan Kreklow direct the activities of the 2000 Missouri Volleyball Camps. The duo enters their first year as coaches of the Missouri Tiger volleyball program.

After a spring full of adjustments, not to mention recruiting and off-season training, the Kreklows are ready to get down to coaching. No strangers to the city of Columbia, the Kreklows were co-head coaches of the National Champion Columbia College women’s volleyball program as well as the 1999 SSI-NAIA National Championship runner-up men’s volleyball program. During their last two seasons at the helm of the Cougars, they guided the women to two consecutive national titles with a combined record of 85-0. The Kreklows leave Columbia College with a combined 461-81 record.

Susan and Wayne have two sons, Rick (8) and Ryan (3) and a daughter Alex (4).

The Hearnes Center & Rothwell Gymnasium
The Hearnes Center, home to Tiger volleyball, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics and indoor track, enters its 27th year of service to the student-athletes at MU.

The arena, which seats 13,300, was upgraded this past summer with a newly painted hardwood floor. Two years ago marked the debut of a completely new hardwood floor that had been in the arena since 1980. The Hearnes Center also houses a 220-yard, eight lane indoor track at the south end of the facility and a regulation-size practice volleyball and basketball court on the fourth floor, along with the wrestling and gymnastics practice gyms. A portable volleyball floor may be utilized in the fieldhouse area for further practice space.

The main arena and fieldhouse are separated by a section containing Missouri’s intercollegiate athletic offices, meeting rooms and team locker rooms.

Rothwell Gymnasium is located in the heart of the Mizzou campus. Housed inside the Student Recreation Center, Rothwell is the former home of the Missouri Tigers first men’s basketball team. The gymnasium holds four volleyball/basketball hardwood courts with locker room accessibility. Surrounding Rothwell are offices and classrooms, a martial arts mat room and what used to be racquetball courts.
