COLUMBUS, Ohio - Mizzou volleyball was well-represented at the USA Volleyball A2 Tournament this week as competition ended yesterday in Columbus, Ohio. Mizzou volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow guided his Blue Team to a 4-1 overall record and a third-place overall finish while junior setter Molly Kreklow's Red Team finished the tournament with a 1-4 record, including a pair of losses to Wayne Kreklow's team.
Wayne Kreklow's Blue Team finished pool play on July 2 a perfect 3-0 but lost its semifinal matchup to the Gold Team, 3-2 (25-27, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 18-16), on July 3, dropping the Blue Team to the third-place match yesterday (July 4). The Blue Team drew Molly Kreklow's Red Team in the third-place match and it was another five-set thriller. Wayne Kreklow's team earned the win, 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-11), earning third place. Molly Kreklow set the final three frames of that match.
