Columbia, Mo - Rosa Medrano, a junior college standout from Florida, has signed on to play for the Missouri volleyball program in 2009, making her the fourth signee for the '09 class and the second player from Miami Dade College to join the squad.

The 5'11'' middle blocker from the Dominican Republic led the Lady Sharks to a berth in the NJCAA championships in 2008 and a 26-8 overall record. Medrano was twice named NJCAA volleyball player of the week last year and was a member of two FCCAA and Southern Conference championship teams.

In her two year career at MDC, Medrano was first team All-Southern Conference twice, FCCAA All State/All Tournament team twice, FCCAA Tournament MVP, a two time NCJAA All-American and All-Region selection, and a 2007 FCCAA All-Academic team selection.

Medrano will join former fellow Lady Shark Paola Ampudia at Mizzou in 2009, along with Kate Harris and Lindsey Petrick.
