Three Tigers Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Three members of the 2012-13 Mizzou tennis team earned accolades for their work in the classroom as they were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes. Additionally, the team earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for posting a 3.20 grade point average.

Maria Christensen, Alex Clark and Madison Rhyner all earned ITA Scholar Athlete honors for their work in the classroom in 2012-13. To be eligible for the award, players must 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).

Christensen and Clark were both honored for the second time in their careers, as the pair also earned ITA Scholar Athlete accolades in 2012.

As a team, the Tigers were awarded an ITA All-Academic Team for the third consecutive season.
