COLUMBIA, Mo. - Three members of the Mizzou tennis program were in action last weekend at various events in the United States and United Kingdom. Rising junior Alex Clark (London, England), sophomore transfer Kelli Hine (New Braunfels, Texas) and incoming freshman Tracy Dong (Surrey, British Columbia) all competed and won titles.
Clark helped the Buckinghamshire County Ladies doubles team claim the Aegon Summer County Cup Championship at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club in Eastbourne, East Sussex. This marked the first time Buckinghamshire women won the event, which dates back to 1899. Clark and her teammates earned wins over Warwickshire (7-2), Cheshire (7-2), Lancashire (6-3), Surrey (7-2) and lost to Hertfordshire (5-1).
Competing at the ITA Summer Circuit in College Station, Texas, Hine and doubles partner Kelsey Grambeau claimed the title. The pair won five matches on the way to the crown, including two 8-0 defeats.
Dong competed at the 2013 Stanley Park Open in Vancouver, B.C., where she and doubles parter Trudie Du Toit won the doubles title. The duo received a bye in the first round then ran off three straight victories to claim the crown.
