Two Tigers Named to Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team

Urska Juric and Lucie Ruskova earn Tiger honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri tennis players Urska Juric and Lucie Ruskova were named to the Academic All-Big 12 tennis first team, as announced by the Big 12 Conference today. This is the first Academic All-Big 12 honor for both Juric and Ruskova.

Juric, a junior, has compiled a 26-5 record this season while playing at #1 singles for the Tigers and also pairs with sophomore Katka Sevcikova to form the top-ranked doubles team in the Big 12. Ruskova, a sophomore, has played well for the Tigers all season playing in a varying amount of roles on the Tiger tennis team. Both Juric and Ruskova are business majors.

The Tiger tennis team is in action this week at the Big 12 Tennis Championships at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City. The Tigers begin play against Nebraska on Thursday.

 

 

Four Tigers Named To Academic All-Big 12 Team

On Friday afternoon the Big 12 Conference announced their choices for the 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team. Four Missouri players were recognized on the teams, Mallory Weber, Maureen Modesto, Jessica Giuggioli and Kaitlyn Ritchie.
