Mizzou Takes on Tennessee, No. 9 Georgia This Weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Southeastern Conference contests. The Tigers get started on Friday, March 28 with a 4 p.m. ET match against Tennessee. Missouri then faces No. 9 Georgia on Sunday, March 30 at 1 p.m. ET in a match to be aired live on ESPN3 as part of College MatchDay. Kevin Corke and Mark Bey will call the action.

Against the Bulldogs on Sunday as part of the College MatchDay format, singles will be played first. If the needed, doubles will be played using a 10-point super tiebreaker format.

The Tigers enter the weekend with a 6-15 overall record and 0-7 in SEC action. In league competition, senior Rachel Stuhlmann is a team best 3-3 at No. 3 singles. In doubles, Stuhlmann has teamed with classmate Cierra Gaytan-Leach for a 1-2 SEC record, despite two suspended matches while they were leading.

Tennessee is 8-9 overall and has a 2-5 mark in SEC play. The Lady Vols have conference wins over South Carolina (4-2) and Kentucky (4-3). Brittany Lindl leads the squad in SEC play with a 4-3 mark at both No. 4 and No. 5 action.

Georgia boasts a 13-3 overall mark and 6-1 record in conference action. Lauren Herring, ranked No. 6 nationally, paces the Bulldogs with a 6-0 record in SEC action at No. 1 singles and is the reigning SEC Player of the Week. Herring is also in the midst of an eight-match winning streak entering Georgia's Friday match against Texas A&M.
