COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team, ranked 57th in this week's rankings, hits the road this weekend for a pair of Southeastern Conference matches. The Tigers face No. 44 Kentucky on Friday, March 8 at 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) in Lexington, Ky., and No. 11 Vanderbilt on Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m. CT in Nashville, Tenn.

Missouri is 6-3 overall and 0-2 in SEC play so far this spring. Last weekend, the Tigers fell to then No. 4 Florida, 6-1, before losing a hard-fought 4-3 match to No. 43 South Carolina on Sunday.

Senior Maria Christensen boasts a perfect 9-0 record in dual matches this year, including a 2-0 mark in SEC action. Also picking up singles wins in Mizzou's first conference weekend were junior Cierra Gaytan-Leach (8-1 in dual matches) and sophomore Alex Clark (7-2 in dual matches).

The Wildcats enter Friday's matchup with a 9-3 overall mark and a 1-1 record in conference play. Last time out, Kentucky posted a 4-3 win over No. 63 LSU. The Wildcats' No. 1 singles player, freshman Nadia Ravita, is ranked 51st in the most recent singles rankings.

Vanderbilt is 9-4 overall and 2-0 in SEC play and earned wins over No. 50 Arkansas (4-3) and No. 63 LSU (7-0) last week. Junior Lauren Mira is the Commodore's top-ranked singles player at No. 60, while freshman Georgina Sellyn is ranked 64th. The doubles team of Mira and freshman Courtney Colton is ranked 29th nationally.
