Mizzou Opens Action at Razorback Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. - Three members of the Mizzou tennis team started action at the three-day Razorback Classic in Fayetteville, Ark., the Billingsly Tennis Center on Friday.

Senior Maria Christensen earned a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win over Tulsa's Maria Sant'Anna in the afternoon. The win comes two weeks after Christensen lost a 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 match against Sant'Anna at the Aces For the Cure on Sept. 23.

Also in singles action for the Tigers were sophomore Alex Clark and freshman Madison Rhyner. Clark fell to Arkansas' Kimberly-Ann Surin 6-2, 6-0, while Rhyner was defeated by Carol Benito of Tulsa, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

In doubles play, Christensen and Clark fell to Tulsa's Samantha Vickers and Isaura Enrique 8-5.

Mizzou continues play at the Razorback Classic Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
