Tigers Open Play at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES - Three members of the Mizzou tennis team competed on day one of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying round Saturday in Los Angeles, Calif.

The doubles team of junior Cierra Gaytan-Leach and sophomore Elisha Gabb advanced to Sunday action with an 8-4 win over Daneika Borthwick and Mia Vriens of Florida State. Gaytan-Leach and Gabb will face Air Force's Melissa Cecil and Hannah Dake Sunday at 9 a.m. PT (11 a.m. CT).

Gaytan-Leach and junior Rachel Stuhlmann competed in pre-qualifying singles play, with both going 1-1 on the day. Gaytan-Leach earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Niltooli Wilkins of UNC-Greensboro in the morning and fell to Erin Stephen's of Ole Miss, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, in the afternoon.

Stuhlmann posted a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Memphis' Tiffany Welcher before falling 6-3, 6-3 to Elizabeth Begley of Texas.
