No. 21 Auburn Secures 4-0 Win Over Mizzou

AUBURN, Ala. - The Mizzou tennis team fell to the No. 21 Auburn Tigers, 4-0, Friday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala. The loss dropped the visiting Tigers to 6-18 overall and 0-10 in Southeastern Conference play, while Auburn improved to 16-6 and 6-4.

Auburn claimed the doubles point with identical 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 action. At No. 1, the No. 19 duo of Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger defeated seniors Cierra Gaytan-Leach and Rachel Stuhlmann, while Auburn's Jackie Kasler and Jen Pfeifler notched a win over junior Alex Clark and sophomore Madison Rhyner at No. 2.

The home squad went up 2-0 when Paula de Man recorded a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Stuhlmann at No. 3 singles. A 6-3, 6-3 win for Burgmans, ranked No. 32, over Gaytan-Leach at No. 2 gave the home Tigers a 3-0 advantage.

Auburn clinched the win after Kasler downed freshman Cassidy Spearman at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-0.

Missouri returns to the court on Sunday, April 6 for a Noon match at No. 5 Alabama.
