No. 68 Mizzou Outlasts No. 49 Brown, 5-2

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 68 University of Missouri women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over No. 49 Brown University Wednesday in Boca Raton, Fla. The Tigers improved to 6-8 overall on the season with the win, while the Bears fell to 13-4.

Mizzou posted victories in five of the six singles matches on the day. Senior Nina Pantic earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Misia Krasowski at No. 1 singles to tie the match at 1-1. At No. 2 singles, sophomore Rachel Stuhlmann defeated Casey Herzberg 6-1, 4-6, 7-6, and junior Maria Christensen beat Jessica Harrow in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3.

Freshman Alex Clark and junior Annemijn Koenen also claimed singles victories on the day. Clark outdueled Julie Flanzer, 7-6, 6-2, at No. 5, while Koenen defeated Sarah Kandath 6-4, 6-2 at No. singles.

Brown's Laura Wiley posted a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 win over senior Jamie Mera at No. 4.

Brown claimed the doubles point as the Bears swept all three matches. The team of Herzberg and Harrow defeated Pantic and Mera at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, Krasowski and Caldwell posted an 8-7 win over Stuhlmann and Christensen at No. 2 and Wiley and Carissa Aboubakare earned an 8-1 victory over Clark and freshman Ashleigh Chiaf at No. 3.

The Tigers travel to Houston, Texas, this weekend for a pair of matches. Mizzou first takes on Stephen F. Austin on Friday, March 30 at 2 p.m. before facing Rice on Saturday, March 31, also at 2 p.m.
