Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Missouri women's tennis team (3-8) fell, 7-0, to No. 54 University of Nebraska (12-1) at the Nebraska Tennis Center on Sunday morning. For the first time in four years, the Huskers were able to secure the doubles point over the Tigers.

The Huskers prevailed at each doubles position. At No. 3, senior Kristen Bleakley and freshman Maria Christensen battled to an 8-4 loss, falling to Jennifer Holmberg and Mary Weatherholt, in the most closely contested doubles match of the day.

The Tigers dropped two singles matches in three setters. Andrea Lewis won the first set, but fell at No. 6 singles, 2-6, 7-5, (10-6), to the Huskers' Jamie Weinreich. Christensen lost her first set, 1-6, before earning a 6-2 score in the second set. Nebraska's Stefanie Weinstein took the third set 6-2, and the point at No. 4 singles.

Missouri returns home next week to host the Mountaineers of West Virginia University on March 19, and University of Houston on March 21.
