GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Mizzou tennis team fell to Louisville, 4-0, in the consolation match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Sunday at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla. The Tigers fell to 2-2 on the year, while Louisville improved to 1-1.

The Cardinals earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 play. At No. 1, Louisville's Manuela Velasquez and Becca Shine defeated senior Cierra Gaytan-Leach and freshman Cassidy Spearman, 6-4, the first loss of the season for the Missouri pair. Senior Rachel Stuhlmann and sophomore Madison Rhyner suffered a 6-2 loss to Louisville's Julia Fellerhoff and Olivia Boesing at No. 2 doubles.

In singles action, Louisville posted wins at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles to take the victory. Gaytan-Leach lost to Shine at No. 1 play, 6-0, 6-3, sophomore Kelli Hine was defeated by Fellerhoff at No. 2, 6-4, 6-1, and Rhyner fell to Elle Stokes, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.

Mizzou hits the road next weekend to North Carolina to take on North Carolina State (Saturday, Feb. 1) and Wake Forest (Sunday, Feb. 2).
