One of Missouri's most influential and recognized players during her time as a student-athlete, Urska Juric returns to the Mizzou Tennis program in her third season as an assistant coach under former coach Blake Starkey.
During her playing days, Juric capped her Tiger career as the school's all-time leader in doubles victories with a 95-30 career record and second all-time in singles play with a record of 83-44. Juric won 76 percent of her doubles matches. She went 30-8 in singles play in 2002-03 and 37-8 in doubles action during the 2001-02 season.
Mizzou's most decorated tennis performer, Juric received First Team All-Big 12 accolades three consecutive years -- and was the first Tiger in school history to accomplish such a feat.
Earning national attention as well as conference recognition, Juric paired with doubles partner Katka Sevcikova to win back-to-back Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Indoor Doubles Championships in 2001 and 2002. This marked the first time in collegiate history that a doubles tandom had won consecutive titles.
Taking their success to the Big 12 level, Juric and Sevcikova tied as the league's doubles champions in 2003, finishing the season with a 9-2 record in conference play. The duo then advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships, with Juric also qualifying for the NCAA Championship as a singles performer.
In 2006, the duo of Juric and Sevcikova was selected to the Big 12 Conference women's 10th Anniversary Team. They joined two other doubles teams along with six singles players.
An outstanding student in the classroom as well, Juric earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 acclaim in both 2003 and 2004. She received recognition from the College Sports Information Directors of America, being selected as an Academic All-District VII scholar, before going on to receive Academic All-America recognition during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Rounding out her extra curricular accolades, Juric was named the ITA Central Region's Arthur Ashe Award recipient, which honors a player exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship and leadership along with academic excellence. She graduated in May 2004 with a 3.81 grade point average in marketing.
