As a junior in high school, Clark was one of the top 20 players in England under the age of sixteen. Her impressive results continued during her senior year of high school when she was ranked as one of the top 450 junior tennis players in the world by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). She made the quarterfinals in four ITF singles tournaments and the quarterfinals or better in 11 ITF doubles tournaments, including three semifinals and one final.
"I am thrilled with the addition of Alex to our team. She is an accomplished junior tennis player with strong ITF experience. She is a tall girl, at six feet, and a big hitter with a huge serve who will make an immediate impact on our singles and doubles line-up She is a great student with a terrific personality who is going to be fun to coach and work with for the next four years," said Schmid.
Clark chose the University of Missouri over St. Mary's, California, Tennessee, and Penn State. Clark believes, "the support system the University of Missouri provides to student athletes is phenomenal." While she is currently undecided on a major, Clark is enrolled in the College of Business.
