Mizzou to Swim for the Cure Saturday Against Missouri State

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou swimming and diving teams return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. when the squads face Missouri State in the Swim for the Cure at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The program will have 10 special edition pink swim caps available for purchase for $10 at the meet, with all proceeds going toward breast cancer research.

Prior to the meet, the Tigers will recognize former women's head coach Dave Howell, who will have a bench on Tiger Plaza dedicated in his honor Saturday morning. Howell led the Tigers from 1974-81 and coached 10 individual swimmers who earned 29 All-American honors.

Mizzou is coming off impressive showings at the eighth annual Show-Me Showdown on Oct. 5, where both the men's and women's teams finished in first place at the event. The women scored 691 points and had 10 first-place winners, while the men recorded 630 points and claimed five event titles.
