The Missouri men's and women's swimming and diving teams each earned a spot in the initial College Swimming Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll released Thursday night. It is the first time both teams were ranked in the top-25 of the season's first CSCAA poll since 2005.
The women opened up at No. 18, matching their highest ranking in program history. The women reached No. 18 last season, and closed the 2007-08 campaign at No. 23.
The men's team is ranked No. 21 to start the season, the same ranking they received at the close of last season. The men received their highest ranking ever last year, coming it at No. 19 in the middle of the season.
Both teams open their season at home on Saturday with the Show-Me Showdown, a battle with some of the best teams across the state. Saturday's action begins with the first session at 11:00 a.m. CT.
