Tigers Post Personal Bests in Day Two Prelims

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Mizzou swimming team posted a number of personal bests and advanced two to tonight's consolation finals on day two preliminaries of the SEC Championships.

Senior Dominique Bouchard advanced to the evening's 200 IM consolation finals with a career best time of 1:59.73 for 15th. Senior Rachel Ripley swam a season best 2:00.52 to finish in 20th, while freshman Danielle Spradlin came in 24th with an NCAA `B' time of 2:01.19. Both Ripley and Spradlin will swim in the C final.

In the 50 free, senior Cassie Cunningham finished 12th in a time of 22.53, just 0.01 off her season best, to qualify for the consolation final. Sophomore Emily Doucette swam a 23.01 for 22nd and a place in the C final. Additionally, both senior Sydney Schaefer (23.23) and freshman Allie Sullins (23.91) notched personal bests.

In the first event of the day, seniors Brigette Selbert and Ashley Paterson notched times of 4:55.76 and 4:56.16, respectively, in the 500 free.

The SEC Championships resume Wednesday, Feb. 20 with the finals session at 6 p.m.
