Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri women's swimming and diving team defeated Missouri State University in a Thursday night meet by a score of 206-86.
In the 200 yard medley relay, the Tigers took the first, second and third spots with the relay team of Shara Stafford, Emy DiBenigno, Tasha Truscott, and Lisa Nathanson taking the first place spot with the time 1:42.31 while the relay team of Cassie Cunningham, Courtney Rhodenbaugh , Lexi Spivak, and Sydney Schaefer took second with a time of 1:42.36. In the third place spot was the team of Andrea Marko, Rachel Ripley, Kellie Barbiea, and Emily Doucette with a time of 1:46.24.
In the women's 1000 yard freestyle event, Stephanie Rovig took first with a time of 10:17.83 and in the women's 200 yard freestyle event Mizzou took the top three spots with Brigette Selbert placing first with a time of 1:51.34, Rovig placing second with a time of 1:52.52, and Doucette in third with a time of 1:54.47.
In the 100 yard backstroke, Stafford placed first with a time of 54.87, with Cunningham notching a time of 56.61 for second. In the 50 yard free event, the Tigers took the top three slots with Nathanson in first with a time of 23.52, Schaefer in second with a time of 24.09, and Doucette in third with a time of 24.15.
Bouchard took the first place spot in the 200 yard back event with a time of 1:58.69 while Emily Harris took the second place spot with a time of 2:03.56. In the women 500 yard free, Ashley Patterson placed first with a time of 4:58.16 and in the women's 100 yard fly Tasha Truscott placed first 56.05.
In diving, the Tigers also experience success with Sharon Finn taking first place in the one meter diving event with a score of 283.05 points. In the 3 meter diving event, Mizzou took the top three spots with Jordan Morcom taking first with 277.50 points, Finn placing second with 254.78 points, and Lauren Callin placing third with 240.30 points.
