Mizzou 10th After First Day of NCAA's

Auburn, Al. - Shara Stafford finished fifth in the women's 50 free at the 2012 NCAA championships with a time of 21.79. This performance was just one of three team records that Shara helped set on the first day.

Mizzou's other two records were set during the prelim session in the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay. At finals The 200 freestyle relay of Shara Stafford, Cassie Cunningham, Emily Doucette, and Lisa Nathanson finished 7th with a time of 1:28.14. The 400 Medley Relay of Dominique Bouchard, Amanda Masters, Shara Stafford, and Cassie Cunningham finished 14th in a time of 3:33.79.

The University of Missouri sits solidly in 10th place after the first day of competition with 44 points. This total also surpasses the 2011 point total which led to Mizzou's highest NCAA finish ever. Congrats lady tigers on a great start to the 2012 championships.
