COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team finished day one at the 2013 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in fourth place with 141 points on Tuesday, Feb. 19 in College Station, Texas.

Freshman Lauren Reedy advanced to the finals of the 3-meter dive and finished in sixth-place with 313.75 points. Reedy was the only underclassman to make the finals session, as all seven other divers were juniors and seniors.

Reedy notched a career high 317.10 in the prelims to earn her spot in the evening session. Senior Sharon Finn narrowly missed qualifying as she placed 10th with 301.95 points. Redshirt sophomore Loren Figueroa and sophomore Alex Skinner also earned points for the Tigers with finishes of 19th (275.05) and 23rd (258.35), respectively.

In the 200 medley relay, Mizzou's team of senior Cassie Cunningham, senior Amanda Masters, sophomore Danielle Barbiea and sophomore Emily Doucette posted a season best time of 1:38.71 for eighth.

The Tigers clocked an NCAA `B' qualifying time of 7:10.34 in the 800 free relay to close out the meet. The team of freshman Anna Patterson, senior Dominique Bouchard, sophomore Emily Doucette and senior Brigette Selbert cut six seconds off Mizzou's previous season best in the event. Patterson bettered her NCAA `B' time in the 200 free with an opening split of 1:46.10.

 

 

The SEC Championships resume Tuesday, Feb. 20 with preliminary action at 10 a.m. and the finals session at 6 p.m.
