Mizzou Softball Sets Black & Gold Date

Dec. 20, 2013

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Softball will begin its 2014 season with its annual Black & Gold Exhibition Game on Saturday, Feb. 8, currently scheduled to take place inside Devine Pavilion at 3 p.m. The contest will be Tiger softball fans' first chance to see the 2014 team in action.

Head coach Ehren Earleywine brings a squad stocked with proven offensive contributors and a pitching staff filled with new faces into his eighth season leading the program. The Tigers put together another standout campaign in 2013, compiling a 38-14 overall record and 15-8 mark in Southeastern Conference play, with the season culminating in a sixth-straight NCAA Super Regional appearance. Mizzou finished the season ranked No. 11 by the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll and the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll, respectively.

Beyond the Tigers' Black & Gold event, Mizzou officially opens the 2014 season at the Jacksonville Tournament, hosted by Jacksonville (Fla.) University, from Feb. 14-16. The Tigers' first home contests of the 2014 season will be vs. SEC foe Kentucky from March 14-16 at University Field.

The Black & Gold Exhibition Game's location and start time are subject to change due to weather. Updates will be made to MUTigers.com and Mizzou Softball's social media outlets (Twitter & Facebook).

Ticket information for the 2014 season will be announced soon, along with times for home contests which are subject to the finalization of television arrangements.
