COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri softball team begins their annual fall schedule this Friday, Sept. 21, with a twin-bill at University Field. The Tigers will take on Columbia College at 2 p.m. CT before facing Highland Community College at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Mizzou is coming off their fifth straight NCAA Super Regional appearance, having swept through the Columbia Regional last season. The Tigers finished the year with a 47-17 record and had a final ranking of No. 11 in both the USA Softball/ESPN.com and NFCA/USA Today Top-25 polls.

The Tigers return 19 players from last year's team, highlighted by First Team All-American pitcher Chelsea Thomas, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Corrin Genovese, and All-Big 12 selections Mackenzie Sykes, Kelsea Roth, Jenna Marston and Nicole Hudson. Mizzou has three newcomers joining the squad, featuring freshmen Emily Crane (Troy, Mo.), the 2012 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year, and Sarah Moore (Chino Hills, Calif.), who was ranked as the No. 21 senior in the entire country by ESPN. Also joining the team is transfer Sami Fagan (Dunnellon, Fla.), who was on the Freshman All-SEC Team last year as a member of the Florida Gators. Fagan must sit out this season due to SEC transfer rules.

Live stats will be provided via GameTracker at mutigers.com, while updates will be tweeted from the official Mizzou softball account (@MizzouSoftball). Admission to every fall game is free to the public.
