COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri infielder Jenna Marston is one of 32 finalists for the USA Baseball Women’s National Team, and will compete to be one of the 18 players on the team this week at the Team Trials, held from Aug. 2-5.

Tryouts will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.  The Women’s Trials roster was selected following six regional tryouts held across the country.  At the conclusion of the trials, 18 players will be selected to compete for the 2010 USA Baseball Women’s National Team, which will compete in the 2010 IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup in Venezuela from Aug. 12-22.  The team will be announced following the conclusion of trials on Aug. 5.  Team USA won the gold medal in 2004 and 2006 before finishing third in 2008.

Marston, a 2010 All-Big 12 first team selection, hit .366 with five home runs and 52 runs batted in during her first collegiate season of softball.  The St. Louis, Mo., native played baseball throughout high school, and is primarily a pitcher and outfielder.
