Tiger Softball Player Earns Jewish Sports Review Honor

Missouri outfielder Julie Silver (Chesterfield, Mo.) was awarded First Team All-America honors by the Jewish Sports Review as announced today. A member of the 2008 NCAA Regional Champion Tiger softball team, Silver is one of 12 individuals to earn the annual accolade.
Finishing the season with a .270 average, Silver started in the outfield in all 64 of Missouri's games. As a sophomore, Silver was credited with the second-most stolen bases of her teammates with 24. Together, the Missouri softball team stole 139 bases on the season.
Silver helped the Tigers to a 47-17 record in 2008, the most wins in 10 years of Missouri softball. Among her honors, Silver was named an All-Big 12 honoree in 2007 and was awarded Academic All-Big 12 first team honors in 2008.
