COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri softball team, the No. 9 overall seed in the 2012 NCAA Championship, will host the Super Regional round for the third consecutive season. The Tigers will face future SEC opponent LSU in a best-of-three series, starting on Saturday, May 26.
Action at University Field will start at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, while game two will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Game three, if necessary, starts at 5 p.m. that same day. Each Columbia Super Regional game will be aired on ESPNU.
Earlier today, Mizzou claimed their fifth straight Regional Championship with a 2-1 victory over Illinois State. Hosting for the fourth season in a row, the Tigers defeated Illinois State, 6-0, on Friday, and defeated the DePaul Blue Demons by a 1-0 score in nine innings yesterday. LSU went 3-0 in the College Station Regional, opening with a 1-0 win over Texas State before pulling out victories of 2-0 and 2-1 over the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies.
