• No. 13 Mizzou Softball (41-15, 15-9 SEC) finished its regular season with a 1-2 showing vs. No. 6 Alabama at University Field from May 1-3, starting the series with a nationally televised victory over the Crimson Tide on ESPN on Thursday, May 1. The Tigers defeated Alabama, 8-6, behind two-hit games by redshirt sophomore SS/C Sami Fagan, sophomore 2B/OF Emily Crane and junior 1B Kelsea Roth. Crane and Roth both homered in the win.

• Head coach Ehren Earleywine's team started the week with a doubleheader sweep of Creighton on Tuesday, April 29. Freshman IF/OF Kelli Schkade hit a home run and junior IF Corrin Genovese batted 3-for-4 in the initial 11-6 win. Freshman P Tori Finucane came close to her first career no-hitter in the second game, a 2-1 victory. The Tiger hurler held the Bluejays without a hit until the top of the seventh, when a solo home run broke up the no-hit bid. Finucane finished with 10 strikeouts in the win for her third career game with double digit strikeout totals.

• In the tightly contested series with Alabama, the Tigers had redshirt sophomore OF Taylor Gadbois and Fagan record a hit in each game. Fagan led the way for Mizzou, batting 5-for-11 (.455), while Gadbois hit 4-for-11 (.364).

• Saturday's series finale and regular season finale vs. Alabama was also Mizzou's Senior Day, with postgame recognition going to Alora Marble and Mackenzie Sykes. Marble has appeared in 14 games in her first and final season as a Tiger, picking up SEC victories at No. 20 Auburn (twice) and vs. Ole Miss. Sykes has made more than 140 starts in her strong career at Mizzou. She has had a memorable final season in the Black & Gold, posting season bests in home runs, hits, runs scored and RBI. Sami Fagan


• Batted .444 (8-for-18) to lead No. 13 Mizzou to a 3-2 week, including an impressive 8-6 win vs. No. 6 Alabama in a nationally televised game on ESPN on Thursday, May 1.

• Led the way for Tigers at the plate vs. Alabama, hitting .455 (5-for-11) and posting a team-best .455 on-base percentage.

• Recorded a hit in all five games of the week to run her reached base safely streak to 13 games and hitting streak to six games. Posted three 2-for-4 batting performances to run her season multi-hit games total to 20, second-best on the Mizzou squad.

• Strong game in Mizzou’s series-opening win against the Crimson Tide, batting 2-for-4 with one RBI, one run scored and one stolen base, with her RBI single keying the beginning of the Tigers’ three-run third inning.

• Blistered the ball in the series finale vs. Alabama, hitting 2-for-4 with an impressive double to right center field and single to center field.

• Matched her career-best in RBI with three from a 2-for-4 outing vs. Creighton in the initial game of the doubleheader on April 29, also matching her season-best with two runs, hitting a double and recorded a stolen base.















Tori Finucane


• Went 2-0 to improve her freshman season record to 21-5, striking out 20 batters in her 23.2 innings of work and allowing just five walks.

• Pitched No. 13 Mizzou to victory over No. 6 Alabama on May 1 in a nationally televised game on ESPN, topping Alabama’s Jaclyn Traina in a matchup of the top two pitchers in the SEC, based on league ERA entering the contest.

• Worked her 19th complete game with 7.0 innings pitched in the win vs. the Crimson Tide, allowing five earned runs and striking out five batters with nine hits allowed.

• Just missed dealing her first career no-hitter in the second win of the Creighton doubleheader sweep (April 29), holding the Bluejays to just one hit, which was a home run in the top of the seventh inning of the 2-1 victory. -

• Struck out 10 Creighton batters in the win for her third career game with double digit strikeouts.

• Win vs. No. 6 Alabama was her 11th conference victory of her freshman season, a total that ranks fourth in the SEC.

• Current league ERA of 2.03 ranks second in the conference, while her overall ERA of 1.70 ranks second.
