COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou softball team (20-2, 7-1 SEC) was ranked sixth and seventh in the country by the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 polls, respectively, the organizations announced on Tuesday. The rankings mark the ninth-straight week the Tigers were placed in the top 10, nationally.
The Tigers swept Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina with three-straight run-rule victories at University Field (March 29-30). Mizzou scored a six-inning, 10-2 result on Friday, March 29 before securing two five-inning wins (12-3, 8-0) in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30. Sophomore Angela Randazzo (Poway, Calif.) provided the highlights for the series, batting 5-for-7 with three home runs and nine RBI.
Mizzou is joined in the top 10 of the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll by four fellow SEC schools: No. 3 Florida, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 7 Alabama and No. 9 Texas A&M. The entire poll can be viewed here.

Head coach Ehren Earleywine led the Mizzou squad to a program-best 10-poll stay in the Top 10 rankings from the final poll of the 2009 season (June 9 - No. 8/8) to the Week 8 poll of the 2010 season (April 6 - No. 7/8).
Mizzou next hits the road for a mid-week doubleheader at Missouri State on Wednesday, April 3. The Tigers and Bears are scheduled to play a 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Killian Stadium in Springfield, Mo. Mizzou then continues on the road from Friday, April 5-Sunday, April 6 at No. 4/7 Alabama. The Friday and Saturday games (8 p.m. & 2 p.m. CT) in Tuscaloosa, Ala., will be televised nationally on ESPNU. The Tigers and Crimson Tide finish the series with a Noon start on Sunday.
