Columbia, Mo. - Senior Missouri softball player Stacy Delaney (Freeland, Mich.) was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time of the season as announced today by the league office. The weekly accolade is Missouri's third Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor of the campaign. Delaney last received the title on March 16, while freshman Chelsea Thomas was tabbed Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on March 9.

This marks the first time since 1994 that Missouri has received three or more Conference Pitcher of the Week honors in a single season, with Delaney becoming the first Missouri pitcher since Stephanie Falk to be awarded Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors twice in one season. Falk accomplished the feat in 1999.

Credited with two of Missouri's four wins on the week, Delaney notched a 0.44 ERA and struck out 10 batters in 16 innings of work. The senior opened the four-game stretch by holding Houston to one run in seven complete innings. Next, she tabbed her fifth complete game of the season as she struck out six Baylor batters, allowing four hits. Entering Sunday's contest with BU in the final two innings, she struck out two en route to the Tiger's first Big 12 sweep of the campaign. Now 6-2 on the year, Delaney has notched 63 strikeouts in 64 innings from the circle, and has held opponents to a .181 batting average.

Delaney and the Tigers will take on M&I Bank Border Shoowdown opponent Kansas in a midweek doubleadher Wednesday, April 1 in Lawrence, Kan. First pitch of the late afternoon games is set for 4 p.m. (CT).
