COLUMBIA, Mo. - Season tickets for the 2012 season of Missouri softball will go on sale this Friday, Jan. 20, starting as low as $50 for adults and $25 for youth and seniors. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Mizzou Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS (228-7297), in person at the Mizzou Arena Ticket Office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) or online,
Fans can choose between Field Level Bleacher seats, which are underneath the stands immediately behind home plate, Reserved Bucket seats (individual bucket seats with seat backs) or Reserved Bleacher seats. Field Level Bleacher and Reserved Bucket seats cost $60 for adults and $30 for youth and seniors, while Reserved Bleacher seats are on sale for $50 for adults and $25 for youth and seniors. Families of four can purchase a Family Four Pack in the Reserved Bucket section for $150. A processing fee of $9 will be added to all orders.
Other amenities available for season ticket holders include chair backs for the Reserved Bleacher seats at an additional $5 per seat, which can be purchased by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS. Softball season parking passes are also available for home Big 12 Conference games for $20. Parking will be located in Lot U (located North of University Field). Passes are NOT valid on Monday-Friday games starting before 5 p.m. CT. A limited number of parking passes are available.
Tickets will not be allocated at the time of purchase, and will be allocated based on Tiger Scholarship Fund giving level and priority points. Season ticket holders will also get the first opportunity to purchase their seat for any postseason tournaments hosted at University Field. Those who hold Mizzou Spirit Passes will have access to Tiger softball games as usual, while Mizzou students still get in free with a valid student ID. Single game general admission tickets remain available for purchase at University Field on the day of the game. Prices remain the same as in years past: $5 for adults, $3 for youth and seniors and $2 per ticket for groups of 10 or more.
Mizzou is coming off their third consecutive appearance at the Women's College World Series and were picked to repeat as Big 12 Champions in 2012, according to the coaches' poll that was released on Wednesday. Head coach Ehren Earleywine was named Big 12 Coach of the Year for the second time in his career after leading Mizzou to a No. 6 ranking in the final polls in 2011, their highest finish ever. The Tigers return two 2011 All-Americans in senior Ashley Fleming and redshirt junior Chelsea Thomas, along with All-Big 12 honorees Nicole Hudson and Jenna Marston.
Last season, Fleming led the Tigers in batting average (.356), doubles (16), home runs (14), runs batted in (62), slugging percentage (.701) and on base percentage (.452). She also had 26 walks to just 17 strikeouts and was a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen bases. Thomas was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and was one of three finalists for USA Softball's Player of the Year award after leading the nation with a 0.95 earned run average. She posted a record of 32-8 and struck out 397 batters while walking just 53.
Missouri is scheduled to host 24 home games this season, beginning with the DeMarini Invitational on March 9-11. In Big 12 action, the Tigers will host three-game sets against Kansas, Baylor, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. All game times, dates and opponents are subject to change.
