Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri softball team closed out its fall season with a 4-0 win over Three Rivers Community College improving to a perfect 8-0 on the campaign. Playing in the Devine Pavilion, the Tigers notched 10 hits and held their seventh opponent of the fall scoreless. As a team, Missouri finished the fall with a .397 batting average, while the pitching staff notched a 0.49 ERA.

Sophomore Kristin Nottelmann (Fenton, Mo.) improved to 4-0 in fall ball after combining for her third shutout of the year. Nottelmann threw five innings, allowing only three hits and striking out seven of the 18 batters she faced. Newcomer Lindsey Muller (Stilwell, Kan.) who began the game at first base and also saw one inning as designated player, shut down Three Rivers in the sixth and seventh frames forcing four groundouts, a flyout and a strikeout.

Batting leadoff, junior Kathryn Poet (Tujunga, Calif.) scored two of Missouri's four runs. The Tiger leftfielder opened the game with a single and scored on centerfielder Ashley Fleming's (Silex, Mo.) double to center. Poet scored again in the bottom of the fourth.

Newcomer Rachel Hay (Kansas City, Mo.) also hung two runs for the Tigers, scoring first in the second inning and again in the fourth. Hay finished the day with a 3-for-3 showing at the plate, hitting a two singles up the middle and a double to centerfield.

Missouri will release its spring schedule as soon as it is finalized. Look for the Tigers to take on several of the nation's top-ranked squads as they look to return to the Women's College World Series in 2010.
