The Tigers' lone hit of the game came in the first inning, when Corrin Genovese roped a triple off the top of the wall in left-center field. Talley worked out of it though, getting back-to-back line outs to end the inning.

From there, Talley would set down the next 19 hitters in order into the seventh inning. The only other Tiger hitter to reach would be Kelsea Roth, who reached via an error with two outs in the frame.

The Red Raiders got their two runs in the sixth inning, scoring the first on a wild pitch and the second on a bases loaded walk. Emily Bledsoe and Logan Hall each singled to start the inning and put two aboard. A sacrifice bunt moved them into scoring position and an intentional walk loaded the bases with one out. The wild pitch moved each runner up a base, scoring Bledsoe, and two start walks plated the other run.

Chelsea Thomas took the loss, falling to 16-5 on the season. She threw all seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts. Talley surrendered just the one hit for Texas Tech and threw just 79 pitches in the complete game shutout.

Game two of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to and Mizzou softball on both Facebook and Twitter for any updates or changes with possible inclement weather approaching the area.
