Tucson, Ariz.. - Coming off of a 4-0 loss to No. 3 Arizona, the No. 18 Tigers suffered their second straight shutout of the night to North Carolina State, 6-0, at the Worth Wildcat Invitational in Rita Hillenbrand Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. Missouri is now 2-3 on the season.

The Wolfpack held a 6-0 lead after two innings of work. Scoring three runs in both the first and second innings, State capitalized on four Missouri errors, managing only two hits in the first inning off of right-handed freshman Megan Dennis (Liberty, Mo,). Dennis struckout the side in the third and ended her night on the mound with five strikeouts. The loss drops Dennis to 0-1 on the season.

Junior Kathy Masterson (St. Louis, Mo.) made her pitching debut in the top of the sixth inning. A righty, Masterson last saw time in the circle during her days at Cor Jesu Academy. After catching Missouri's entire first game against Arizona, Masterson held the Wolfpack to eight hits.

Only junior outfielder Leanne Bowers (Arnold, Mo,.) and true freshman second baseman Andee Allen (Liberty, Mo.) managed hits off of State pitcher Abbie Sims. Both came in the third inning.

Missouri continues play in the Worth Wildcat Invitational with a 11 a.m. (CST) game against Pacific followed with a 1 p.m, (CST) game against Big 12 opponent Texas Tech.
