2009: Gina Schneider's fifth inning walk off home run in Missouri's run rule win over No. 1 seeded UCLA in game three of the NCAA Super Regional series sent the Tigers to the Women's College World Series for the first time in 15 years.Batting from the two hole, Schneider went 3-for-3 in game three against the Bruins, scoring four runs, including the game-winning blast.Schneider finished NCAA postseason play with a .348 average, third best on the team, and a .783 slugging percentage that was aided by her two doubles, one triple and two home runs.As a redshirt junior, Schneider earned 50 starts during the season and closed out the year with a .321 average.Schneider scored the second most runs of her teammates (43) and had the second most home runs (eight) and triples (two).Missouri's utility player also notched the third best slugging percentage (.599) of her teammates as well as on-base percentage (.448) and walks (23).Schneider managed an eight-game hitting streak, the third longest of her teammates, from Feb. 14-Feb. 25 and was fourth on the team for multi-RBI games, eight.Schneider made 20 starts at third base, but also saw significant time at shortstop (13 games), also taking turns in left and right field. Honors: Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
2008: Returning for her redshirt sophomore season, Schneider made appearances in 47 of Missouri's games and had 12 starts at third base.Schneider and her teammates played in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.During the tournament, Schneider went 1-for-3 and scored a single run against Cal Poly and followed with a 1-for-2 outing against Portland State scoring two of Missouri's 10 runs.
2007: Schneider redshirted the 2007 campaign.
2006: One offour newcomers on the 2006 squad, Schneider made 17 starts in 35 games and batted leadoff in nine of Missouri's games.Playing primarily at third base, but also seeing time at second base and right field, Schneider recorded a .953 fielding percentage tallying 14 putouts and 27 assists.Taking on the Drake Bulldogs at the Tiger Invitational, Schneider went 2-for-4 at the plate, hitting a double to left center in the top of the sixth inning and following with a two-run homer in the seventh.Schneider scored two of Missouri's eight runs in the Tigers' shutout on University Field.Batting leadoff in Missouri's March 28 game against the Rebels of UNLV, Schneider opened with a single down the left field line, doubling to left field in her next at bat.
Liberty:Schneider was a four-time all-district player for Head Coach Scott Howard at Liberty High School and a golden glove winner for her work at shortstop.Schneider was a two-time all-state and all-region honoree.During her three years as an all-conference team member, Schneider helped lead the Blue Jays to the 2004 State Championship and three 4A district titles, two years of which she served as team captain.Aside from softball, Schneider played soccer for the Blue Jays and was on the National Honor Society four years.In 2003, Schneider won the Academic Excellence Award.
Personal: Born June 22, 1987, to Doug and Kathy Schneider, Gina hails from Winona, Minn.Gina has a brother, Bryant (23) and a sister Carissa (26).Schneider is majoring in graphic design.
