2009: Kristin Nottelmann proved to be a dual threat to Missouri opponents in 2009. The Tiger right-handed pitcher owned the best ERA in the Big 12 Conference (1.25), led the league in saves (three), good enough for 26th best in the nation and held opponents to a .189 batting average, good enough for second best in the Big 12. In conference games alone, Nottelmann led the Big 12 with a 1.47 ERA, holding opponents to a league best .190 average. Nottelmann made eight starts and 24 appearances in the circle, notching an 11-2 record in her first year with the Tigers. In 73 innings, the freshman allowed just 13 earned runs. In the second start of her collegiate career, Nottelmann threw a season best seven strikeouts in six innings against San Diego, March 1, also earning her first solo shutout. Honors: All-Big 12 Second Team.
At the plate, Nottelmann averaged .296 on the year and .321 in Big 12 games. Taking on Big 12 opponent Baylor in Waco, Texas, Nottelmann had a 2-for-3 outing, credited with one RBI, a seventh inning double to left field, and one run scored. She tripled to right field in the fourth to reach base and eventually score. Nottelmann was 2-for-3 against the Red Raiders of Texas Tech, singling in the third and doubling in the fourth, scoring both times she reached base.
Rockwood Summit: As a member of the Rockwood Summit softball team coached by Doug Robinson, Nottelmann was a part of the Falcons 2007 State Championship squad. She earned four all-conference and all-district awards, as well as all-region accolades her sophomore (2006), junior (2007) and senior (2008) seasons and first team all-state honors her junior (2007) and senior (2008) seasons. Additionally, Nottelmann was second team all-state as a sophomore (2006). Nottelmann was a three-time Most Valuable Player for Summit (2006, 2007 and 2008) and was named the Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year her junior campaign (2007). Nottelmann was also a member of the St. Louis Fusion club team for one year and a member of her high school basketball team as a freshman (2005). She earned nine total varsity letters, with four each in academics and softball and one basketball letter. Nottelmann also received the Honor Chord for math.
Personal: Kristin Nottelmann is the daughter of Jim and Gwyn Nottelmann and has two siblings, Evan (21) and Kaitlyn (11). She was born April 16, 1990. |
