2003: In her freshman year, Samantha Fleeman started 11 games at pitcher for Missouri. Beginning with Mercer on Feb. 8, at the Auburn Invitational, Fleeman won her first two starts of the year, including a shutout against Chattanooga. With her impressive campaign at Auburn, Fleeman was named to the All-Tournament Team. Fleeman holds a 6-6 win-loss record and pitched 93 innings,the second most on the staff in 2003, sporting a 2.31 ERA. As a hitter, Fleeman had 72 at bats, with 12 hits, six runs and six RBI and played in 28 games for Missouri at either pitcher or designated player. Fleeman pitched a no-hitter against Southeast Missouri State on April 2, striking out 10 in the game. On the year, Fleeman managed 73 strikeouts and 35 walks. Pitching against Pittsburgh State on March 12, Fleeman struck out 10 in a complete game one-hit shutout
Pleasant Hill HS: Fleeman was a member of two Pleasant Hill State Championship teams during her time at PHHS (2001 and 2002), setting the Missouri high school record for strikeouts in a game with 44 in the State Championship game that lasted a record 21 innings in the Fall of 2001. Fleeman was featured in the "Faces in the Crowd" section of the Nov. 19, 2001, issue of Sports Illustrated in recognition of her record setting outing. Sporting a 22-0 record in 2001, Fleeman allowed opponents to hit only 0.096 making her an easy selection to the Missouri All-State squad.
Personal: Born June 29, 1984, in Lawrence, Kan., Fleeman is the daughter of Mickey and Jamey Fleeman and has one brother Joey, 15. Fleeman is a criminal psychology major.
