2012 (Freshman): Erwin emerged as Mizzou's No. 2 starter as a freshman in 2012, posting a perfect 8-0 record with a 1.12 earned run average, which was the second-lowest amongst all Big 12 pitchers. She limited opponents to a .209 batting average, the eighth-best in the league, while her 1.68 ERA in conference games was the fourth-lowest total. She picked up her first career win in her second start of the season, throwing five shutout innings while allowing four hits in an 8-0 win over UC Davis. She threw her first seven inning complete game on March 4 against Missouri State, allowing one run on five hits while striking out three. She won two games over Alcorn State in back-to-back days, striking out seven batters in five innings in the first game while throwing a four hit shutout in the second. Erwin registered her first career save against Evansville on March 28, tossing 2.2 shutout innings while striking out three. Her second save of the year came against Northern Iowa, as she threw two scoreless innings while giving up two hits and striking out a pair to preserve Mizzou's 3-1 win over the Panthers. She won her last three starts of the year to push her record to 8-0, beating Iowa State, Murray State and Oklahoma State. Against Iowa State, she threw the first four innings and allowed no runs on four hits while striking out two. In the start against Murray State, she went 6.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts, while she tied her season-high of eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings in her start against the Cowgirls. She threw five innings in the postseason - four against LSU in the Super Regional - giving up no runs on just one hit while striking out three without issuing a walk.
Sequoyah: Erwin pitched for the Sequoyah Eagles under head coach Krystel Markwardt, helping the squad to two Oklahoma 4A state semifinal appearances. She was named to the Will Rogers All-Conference team all four years, was the league's newcomer of the year in 2007 and was picked as the conference Pitcher of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. Erwin earned All-District honors in each of her four seasons, and capped off her high school career with All-Region recognition and First Team All-State honors as a senior. She posted a high school record of 103-32 with a 0.98 ERA, striking out 796 batters, throwing 57 shutouts and recording 14 no hitters. Her club team, the Tulsa Eagles, finished in the top-25 at the 2011 Premier Nationals. Erwin was named to the Principal and Superintendent's Honor Roll and was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Bailey Erwin was born to Bobby and Lori Erwin in Claremore, Okla., on May 10, 1993. She has one older sister, Missy, who played two years of college softball. Erwin is majoring in physical therapy.
