Dec. 19, 2012

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Juniors Dominique Richardson and Alyssa Diggs of the Mizzou soccer team earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Region teams. Richardson was named to the second team while Diggs was a third team honoree.

Richardson, who hails from Fullerton, Calif., also earned All-SEC first team accolades last month. She started all 22 games at midfield in 2012 and recorded four goals and an assist for nine points. Three of her goals were game-winners, including the winning tallies against South Carolina and Alabama in the waning minutes.

Over the course of her career, Richardson has earned All-Big 12 first team honors and Academic All-Big 12 first team accolades (2011) and Big 12 All-Newcomer Team honors (2010).

Coppell, Texas, native Diggs joined Richardson on the All-SEC first team. The forward led the Tigers with eight goals and 17 points, to go along with an assist, in 2012, despite playing just 17 games. She also tallied three game-winning goals, which tied for the team lead. Earlier this year, Diggs was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 first team.

In 2011, Diggs was named to the All-Big 12 first team and the Academic All-Big 12 first team.
