COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou senior forward Alyssa Diggs (Coppell, Texas) was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week after notching the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over No. 7 South Carolina on Oct. 18, the league office announced on Monday.

With the Tigers and Gamecocks tied at 1-1 late in the second half, Diggs dribbled toward the box, made a cut to her right and unleashed a bending shot into the upper right corner of the net for a 2-1 Mizzou advantage. The tally held up for Diggs' third goal of the year and first game-winner of the season. She now has nine points in 2013 on three goals and three assists.

Over her four-year Tiger career, Diggs is a two-time all-conference first team selection after earning the honors in 2012 in the SEC and 2011 in the Big 12 Conference. She earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Region third team and Capital One Academic All-District 6 first team honors as a junior in 2012. She leads all current Tigers with 45 career points on 17 goals and 11 assists.

This marks her second career player of the week honor, as she was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 8, 2012. She is the first Tiger to earn SEC weekly honors in 2013.

Diggs and the Mizzou soccer team next hit the pitch on Friday, Oct. 25 with a 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT) road match at Kentucky. The Tigers then close out the home portion of its schedule on Sunday, Oct. 27 against Tennessee at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
