Mizzou Continues Home Stand
The Mizzou soccer team continues its Big 12 Conference home season this weekend when it welcomes the No. 21 ranked Oklahoma State and Kansas to Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium. The Tigers are scheduled to face the Cowgirls on Fri., Oct. 10 at 7:00 p.m. Mizzou then takes on the Jayhawks on Sun., Oct. 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Keeping up with the action, Missouri is scheduled to bring Texas and the No. 5 ranked Texas A&M Aggies to Columbia, Oct. 17-19.

Scouting #21 Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State jumps into the national rankings toting an impressive 11-0-1 record. The Cowgirls are 3-1 in the Big 12 Conference taking victories over Texas (3-1), Baylor (3-0) and Texas Tech (6-0). OSU's tied No. 3 ranked Texas A&M in a 0-0 draw.

Topping the Cowgirl scoring column, Adriane Radtke has scored 12 goals on the year and dished out seven assists for 31 points. OSU has six athletes with double-digit point figures, including assist leader Nikki Wojtowicz who leads the team with 14 assists. Anchoring the goalbox, keeper Kathrin Lehmann has made 25 saves and allowed just two goals for a 0.21 goals against average. She has also tallied eight shutout victories.

Missouri owns the MU-OSU series record 7-0. Last year, the Tigers defeated the Cowgirls 5-1.

Special Promotions The Missouri-Texas game on October 17, is Student Spirit Night at Audrey J. Walton Stadium. Admission for Mizzou students presenting a valid student ID is just $2. To help fans show their school spirit cheering for your Tigers, the first 500 spectators entering the game will receive a free Mizzou megaphone.

Scouting Kansas
The Jayhawks are 9-3-1 overall with a 1-2-1 Big 12 Conference record. Kansas defeated Baylor (1-0) in double overtime to open league play before taking losses to Texas Tech (1-0) and Texas (1-0). The Jayhawks rallied back against No. 3 ranked Texas A&M to tie the Aggies 1-1.

Caroline Smith leads Kansas in the scoring column. The forward has scored 11 of KU's 26 goals this season and contributed two assists to top the team with 24 points. In the goalbox, Meghan Miller has played in all 13 games this season and owns a 0.90 goals against average defending 48 saves and allowing just 12 goals. She owns five shutout victories.

Missouri leads the MU-KU series 5-3, including a 2-0 victory last year to win the inaugural Border War Series.

Annual Youth Clinic
Coach Bryan Blitz and the Mizzou Tigers invite youth to a free soccer clinic on Sun., Oct. 12 following the Missouri-Kansas game. The Tigers and Jayhawks are scheduled to face off at 1:00 p.m., with the clinic directly following a brief post-game cooling off period.

All youth in grades eight or younger are invited to participate. Admission to the clinic is free with a paid admission to the soccer match. Adult admission to the game is $5 and a youth admission is $3. Fans presenting a football stub from the Missouri-Nebraska game on Saturday get a $3 discount on the purchase of an adult ticket.

Eying the Tigers
Missouri joins the fray this weekend toting a 6-6-0 record and an 0-3 Big 12 Conference mark. Battling a range of injuries that have sidelined five of Mizzou's starters at various points during the season, the Tigers came back to win their second game against a ranked opponent last weekend when Mizzou defeated then #17 California, 1-0.

Keeping a close match against #24 Oklahoma, Missouri led 1-0 for the majority of the game before giving up the game-tying goal late in the second period. The Tigers fell to the Sooners on a controversial goal scored in overtime.

Tiger Tidbits
* The Tigers are 5-1 on their home field this season. Mizzou opened 2003 with a five-game home win streak--its longest opening streak in history-before falling to Oklahoma.

* Missouri opened the year with a 4-0 win streak marking just the second time in program history the Tigers have gone undefeated during its season introduction - Mizzou opened the 2000 season with five consecutive victories before taking a loss.

* Including #21 Oklahoma State, Missouri has faced seven opponents ranked in the top-25 at the time of play, including their last seven consecutive games. In addition, the Tigers boast three further teams on their schedule toted in the top-25 at sometime during the season including:

Missouri in the Big 12
* The Tiger goalkeeping staff is ranked second in the league making 66 saves on the year to average 5.50 saves per game.

* Missouri is ranked fifth in assists per game this season averaging 1.58 assists per outing. Mizzou owns 19 goals and 19 assists for 57 points overall.
