Richardson Earns National Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou sophomore Dominique Richardson was honored by Soccer America and CollegeSoccer360 this week for her two-goal performance against No. 7 Ohio State and Purdue last weekend. The midfielder was named one of CollegeSoccer360's Prime Performers of the Week and to Soccer America's National Women's Team of the Week.

The Fullerton, Calif., native scored the lone goal in the Tigers' win over No. 7 Ohio State on Aug. 26. She also scored Mizzou's second goal in the team's 4-2 win over the Boilermakers Aug. 28.

Prior to the season, Richardson was chosen to the Preseason All -Big 12 Team, as voted on by the coaches. Through four games in 2011, she has recorded four points and started every game at defensive center midfielder.

Richardson and the rest of the Tigers next hit the pitch against Northern Arizona at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2 at Walton Stadium. Mizzou then travels to Fort Worth, Texas to take on TCU on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m.
